Current project
As a state institution and provider of official advisory services in Hesse, the Landesbetrieb Landwirtschaft Hessen (LLH) combines specialist agricultural and horticultural tasks in the areas of advisory services, education and specialist information. The LLH is a professional service provider and supports agricultural and horticultural businesses so that they can improve their profitability and at the same time protect natural resources. As an advisory institution in the PFN with close contact to the farms, the LLH shares responsibility, among other things, for the transfer of knowledge within and outside the network, as well as for providing technical advice to the project groups.
Esther Pfeifer LLH advisor for organic farming, focus on organic vegetable farming and PFN
Since June 2022, Esther Pfeifer has been a member of the advisory team for organic agriculture at the LLH and the LLH’s contact person for the Farmers-led Research Network, as well as an advisor in the organic vegetable farming working group. After graduating in Agricultural Sciences, she worked on several organic vegetable farms in Hesse and gained some exciting insights into practical testing during her work on the LLH’s organic trial field. For her, the cooperation between farmers, research and advisory services in the PFN is essential for the further development of organic agriculture.

We are part of the PFN because we see our role in mediating between research and practice and we want to achieve the best possible output for pratice. The PFN takes up current, important topics from the farms. We want to contribute to the further development of organic vegetable farming and to making it more resilient to the challenges of climate change. Our trials in vegetable farming are an important part of this.
