17 New Projects for Innovation and Collaboration in Hesse

On August 20, 2026, at the Jung Farm in Pohlheim-Holzheim, funding approval notices were presented for 17 new projects as part of the program to promote innovation and cooperation in Hesse. State Secretary Daniel Köfer presented the grants for nine new EIP-Agri projects as well as eight consortia in the area of networks and cooperation.
In total, the European Union and the state of Hesse are providing approximately 6.62 million euros in funding for the new projects. The goal of this funding is to advance innovative approaches in the agricultural and food sectors, connect stakeholders, and strengthen the exchange between industry and academia.
A Wide Range of Ideas for Hesse’s Agricultural and Food Industry
The grant award ceremony gave the representatives of the funded projects an opportunity to present their project ideas, exchange ideas, and make new connections.
The range of topics is broad: it extends from AI-supported applications in viticulture to new approaches in crop production and animal husbandry, and on to the utilization of agricultural raw materials, the promotion of biodiversity, and the development of regional value-added and marketing structures.
Also Nut IQ is one of the nine newly approved EIP-Agri projects. The project focuses on innovative approaches to sustainable hazelnut cultivation in Hesse.
Practical experience right on site
The grant award ceremony took place at the Jung Farm, a business that is itself a partner in an innovation project that has already received funding. The “Poppy Varieties” Operational Group presented its work on site and shared insights into the experiences gained from the ongoing project.
Thus, the event not only provided a common starting point for the newly funded projects but also an opportunity to learn from existing projects and their experiences.
