PFN’s ‘ÖkoBoden4Resilienz’ project at the ‘Holistic water management’ information day
25.10.2022 | EVENT
Information day ‘Holistic water management and sustainable irrigation in agriculture and horticulture’:
The event, which took place as part of the ‘100 sustainable farms’ project, focussed on the topic of water in agriculture and horticulture. The ever-decreasing availability of water due to climate change is increasingly challenging many farms. The PFN’s vegetable farming project group is also focussing on this topic. The aim of the project group is to increase the water storage capacity of the soil and its resilience to extreme weather events through the use of organic matter. Jürgen Kleber (Hochschule Geisenheim University) and Rüdiger Preuß (PFN farm Pappelhof) presented the trial set-up and initial results of the vegetable farming group at the information day.
